Description
Botswana has many places with incredible ancient rock art of the San People - Bushmen of the Kalahari. Many of these paintings are thousands years old. I was very lucky to discover many of the sites, especially in the Eastern part of the country. Many paintings are still undiscovered, hidden in the hills and caves. I share the location of these treasures only with few people I can trust. Too many sites have been destroyed by art collectors, local people not happy with the visitors or by vandals, from ''civilised'' west as well.
This rock art depicts the dancing shamans, performing a healing dance – one of the most important aspects of the San culture.
The painting is done on a granite rock, and looks very old - it might be thousands of years old.
