Description
Old magnificent male resting in the shade. Lions are gone in so many places in Africa and the population decreases rapidly; in fact they are in real danger of extinction. Only few viable populations remain, large enough to survive for some time; but they are separated, there is no genetic continuity between them. Inbreeding is a real threat. Hunting the best males made the problem worse. Botswana banned lion hunting few years ago. There are still many lions in the National Parks and Game Reserves of Botswana and hopefully this lion-heaven will protect them for the future generations. There are few things more exciting in the African bush than to see a free male lion. Golden sepia – golden Africa – golden lions – golden memories – and golden hope.
